PM SHRI ACTIVITIES

FIELD VISIT TO CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE, DEPARTMENT OF HORTICULUTURE, GOVERNMENT OF TELANGANA, MULUGU, SIDDIPET DISTRICT

Field Visit is an essential practical component PM SHRI program wherein students from classes I to V are exposed to Agriculture Universities & institutions, Gardens, parks, Farms, Nutritional Gardens etc. It develops a sense of community and the importance of working together towards a common goal such as harvesting a certain crop, growing a vegetable garden or raising livestock. They learn to collaborate with different stakeholders while picking up social skills such as communication, teamwork and leadership. 

The students of classes IV and V are taken on a field visit to Centre of excellence, Department of Horticulture, Government of Telangana situatued in Mulugu, Siddipet district on 10/12/2024 and 13/12/2024.

 The trip involves activities like visit to Hitech Nursery, Agro forestry and Fruit Nursery. The students will participate in Vegetable Cultivation and Transplantation at the centre.

The Centre works with the following objectives:
  1. Production of high quality fruit crops planting material for distribution to farmers.

  2. Establishing intensive crop cultivation site by demonstrating the latest production technologies.

  3. To demonstrate production of high quality fruits & varieties aimed for both national and international markets year around.

  4. To make horticulture a profitable, diversified farm activity in increasing income of the farmers by achieving potential productivity through sustained and advanced technologies.

  5. To create awareness on new technologies through demonstrations on crops like Mango, Citrus, Guava and Pomegranate.

  6. Introduction of New Crops and Cultivars and suggesting varieties suitable to the local conditions which will help in extending fruiting period and niche in domestic and export market, along with solving some of the problems related to root stocks. 





 Field Visit to Nehru Zoological park

The children of classes 1&2 were taken  to Nehru Zoological park as a part of field visits under PM Shri Program on 30/11/2024.The purpose of the visit was to learn more about animals, their habitats,and the importance of wild life conservation.
Children boarded the buses from the school with lot of enthusiasm and interst. they were those little environmentalists who are all set to discover the beautiful flora and fawna around us.
Children enjoyed the toy train ride which covered the maximum part of the zoo. They learnt important lessons:
*Animals are beautiful and need to be protected.
*Zoos are not just for entertainment, but they help to conserve endangered species. It is important to respect nature and wildlife.
*Children learn about animals, their behaviour and the efforts needed to protect them.
